I’m getting a Rode NT1-A to mic my vocals for acoustic & singing videos. My SM58 will be used to mic the acoustic. I used the SM58 on the recording below. I thought I’d best do a Slash video given he’s my guitar hero!

So I re-did this now as an actual VIDEO!
Here’s the audio:
So my friends joked that when I did the “Jump” solo video, it could have been anybody playing because there was no actual video – only stills! So I recorded this when I got back tonight from work (notice the Bill & Ted t-shirt!). It’s not perfect but I don’t care – it’s good enough. And now my friends say I am good… at “finger-syncing” 😀

Last video for a while….
Many moons ago I took part in a few of the International Guitar Festivals in Bath, UK. At one, I got to meet Paul Gilbert. I saw some really amazing players and worked with a great crew. At one, I took part in an advanced guitar class run by Jimi Savage, and had the chance to play Joe Satriani’s “Ice 9” to a crowd. There were 30+ guitarists on stage and we each had our parts to play. I was one of three lead guitarists. You can hear my guitar in the foreground throughout. The video stops shortly after three solos, the first of which is mine. Enjoy!
So last year I played Paradise City live with a bunch of good friends (in addition to some solo acoustic songs). Prior to doing this I had a shot against a backing track, the result of which is below. Unfortunately, the backing track ends too early but as ever, it’s all just a bit of fun.
I found this old video of myself back in 2007 trying to play “Eugene’s Trick Bag” from the film Crossroads. It’s very poor lighting and there are some mistakes but it’s just an extra bit of media that you may enjoy. I might re-record this properly one day.
Oh and here’s the original….
So I decided to take a short break from learning all these acoustic songs. I thought I would crack out my electric and do a video like I used to. It’s nothing mega but here you go. I’m playing the Van Halen “Jump” solo on my Suhr through my Blackstar.

On another note, I watched “This Is the End” for the second time last night. Love that film. I’m doing a Backstreet Boys song as part of my acoustic set-list so I really found the end to this film funny… Enjoy…
