So in the last video, where I compared 57/08 and 59/09 pickups, I accidentally left the tone knob at 60% on the violet guitar with the 59/09s! This time… all knobs are on full for a proper comparison! I’ve also thrown the Suhr Pro S4 into the mix. The volume wasn’t touched at all and I should have increased it for the Suhr… Some slight video/audio syncing issues but my main goal is to get this album complete, not perfect YouTube videos! 🙂

About the Slash outfit – I tend to put it on at times when gigging with the covers band… just a bit of fun!

Watch it and weep:

You have to start from somewhere. I designed my logo. Then I got my intro video created. I created the video using my Canon G7X camera and recorded sound with my Zoom H2n. I then used Lightworks to edit the video and sync the sound up. It’s been a long process and I’m still scratching the surface, but I’m getting there… slowly…!

Although the amplifier could be a little louder this video highlights (hopefully) some of the differences between two sets of PRS pickups. It also shows off “The Royal Pair” nicely. And yes… that is the couch from the Coronation Street adverts! And yes… it is amazing!

–> Note I accidentally left the tone knob on the violet guitar (with the 59/09s) set to 60% throughout the video. I often do this to recreate the 57/08 sound from the 59/09s. Enjoy it for what it is and I’ll get a new video up soon…

Hi fans….

Just thought I’d share these amazing photos I took earlier of the “royal pair” on my new Canon G7X camera. It was handheld so the images aren’t “tack sharp” but they’re miles better than my old ones. I’m throwing in the towel on this guitar malarkey and getting into photography… of guitars… !! 😉

OK, so this one is still in development but it’s largely there, and I’m largely excited!!

This track will be the album intro. The origin? I can’t remember if I was in America or Edinburgh at the time but I remember an American on the bus referring to the Scottish as “The Scotch” which I thought was funny. So I thought… “I’m going to do a kick-ass Scottish-sounding tune fused with some tommysixstring goodness.” Several guitarists have tried Scottish-sounding tunes but this one is made by an actual Scottish person so enjoy the authenticity of it. 😉

The intro is meant to be like the drone of a bagpipe… a call to arms… and we burst into full-on rock a little later. There’s a lot going on but it just means you can keep coming back to listen for more! I give you so much!! 🙂
